The BioWorks Committee aims to make scientific discovery accessible by providing hands-on experimental experience to all students. We provide students with research opportunities through immersive workshops, seminars, and real-world exposure to laboratory and industry environments. By fostering a community of curious minds equipped with tangible skills, we empower students to transform ideas into discoveries.

Hi everyone! My name is Emily Pan and I am a third-year studying bioengineering: biotechnology, with minors in general biology and ethnic studies. I am super excited to be serving as BioWorks Co-Chair and making research opportunities more accessible to students! I have previously served as Translational Medicine Day Co-Chair and Freshman Representative in BMES. Outside of our amazing org, I am an undergraduate research assistant in the Mali Lab. My hobbies include swimming, hiking, and watching sunsets. Please feel free to reach out to me at e2pan@ucsd.edu if you ever have any questions about BMES, research, classes, etc. or just want to chat! Looking forward to meeting you all this year!
